Pin → 330 Ω → LED → GND. Set the pin to OUTPUT.

5 V and GND are fixed; connect the wiper to A0–A5.

Try the dimmer demoPotentiometer → A0, LED → D9, button → D2. Run, turn the knob, then press the button to switch the LED off.
