Speech Recognition in MATLAB using Correlation

MATLAB correlation plots for spoken-word template comparison, speech template matching, MATLAB cross correlation, audio signal processing

Hello friends! In this tutorial, we will compare recorded spoken words using cross-correlation in MATLAB. We will load a test recording, compare it with five stored examples and inspect the similarity scores before choosing a result. This is a small template-matching experiment, not a general speech-recognition system. It can demonstrate how similar waveforms align in time, but changes in speaker, pronunciation, speaking speed and background noise can reduce its reliability substantially. The original audio package, result image and video remain included. We will update the deprecated audio-reading calls, normalize the comparison, use the file's actual sample rate and include an unknown result instead of forcing every recording into one of the five known words. Image Zooming with Bilinear Interpolation in MATLAB

Image enlargement with bilinear interpolation in MATLAB, bilinear interpolation, MATLAB image resizing, pixel coordinate mapping

Hello friends! In this tutorial, we will enlarge an image using bilinear interpolation in MATLAB. We will first calculate one interpolated value by hand, then build a function that applies the same idea across a grayscale or RGB image. Enlarging an image creates more output pixels, but it does not recover detail that the original image never recorded. Interpolation estimates values between existing samples. Bilinear interpolation is useful because its four-neighbor calculation is straightforward and produces smoother transitions than simply repeating the nearest pixel. The original example image, formula illustrations, download and video remain attached. The revised implementation makes the coordinate mapping, data type and image boundaries explicit, including the final row and column that ...
