NRND is a design recommendation, not a statement that every existing board must immediately stop operating. Separate support for installed hardware from the choice for a new revision. Record the actual module, flash size, supply circuit, pin assignments and software versions used by the existing product.

Check library support, TLS requirements, update size and available memory as well as CPU performance. A replacement with different pins, boot behavior or analog inputs is not automatically drop-in compatible. List these differences before committing to a new PCB or firmware abstraction.

Make a small migration test covering boot, provisioning, reconnect, OTA recovery and the real sensor workload. Keep the existing firmware build reproducible while the replacement is evaluated. Confirm current manufacturer lifecycle information and purchasing availability before finalizing the production plan.
