Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Engineering Projects (theengineeringprojects.com, "TEP", "we") collects when you use our website, how we use it and the choices you have. If you have a question, email info@theengineeringprojects.com.
Information we collect
When you read our website
You can read our articles, tutorials and forum without an account. Our website uses cookies for sign-in and security, and our advertising and analytics partners use their own cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details.
When you have an account
- Your username, email address and password. Passwords are stored as a secure hash, never in plain text.
- An optional phone number, and passkey or two-factor sign-in settings if you choose to use them.
- The dates your account was created and last updated.
When you comment or post
When you post a comment or forum reply, we store its text, any images you upload with it, the page it belongs to and the date. Comments are checked by our team before they appear, and published comments are shown publicly with your username.
When you use our tools
- Page Speed tool: the web address you test and its results are stored with your account. The address is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights service to run the test. Anyone who has the link to a result can view it, and a recent result for the same address may be shown to other users.
- Website pages: our SEO Studio shows public information about websites, such as domain registration and hosting details and contact details published on those websites. If you own a website listed there and want information removed, email us.
- Tools that run in your browser, such as the HEX file reader, process your files on your own device; the files are not uploaded to us.
Information stored only in your browser
Some features keep data in your browser's local storage instead of sending it to us, for example your shop cart and saved items, forum drafts and saved boards, AI Projects Lab chats and PCB cost estimates. You can remove this data by clearing your browser's site data.
When you email us
If you email us, we keep your message and email address so that we can reply.
How we use information
- To run your account and let you sign in securely.
- To publish and moderate comments and forum replies.
- To run our tools and show their results.
- To prevent spam and abuse, for example by limiting how often comments and tests can be submitted.
- To understand how our website is used and to show advertising that keeps our content free.
- To answer your emails.
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, and Google AdSense to show advertisements on many of our public pages. Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses information from websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings.
Some articles contain YouTube videos. When a page with a video loads, YouTube may set its own cookies.
Who we share information with
- Hosting providers: our website, database and files are hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Google: for analytics, advertising and the PageSpeed Insights tests you start.
- The public: comments and forum replies you publish, with your username.
- Authorities: when the law requires it, or to protect our users and our website.
How long we keep information
We keep your account information while your account exists. Published comments stay on the website until they are removed. We keep emails as long as needed to answer them and for our records.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your account details in your account settings.
- You can download the personal data stored with your account from the Personal data section of your account settings.
- You can delete your account from your account settings, or email us and we will delete it for you.
- You can ask us to correct or remove your comments or other information by emailing us.
- You can control cookies through your browser settings and Google's Ad Settings.
Security
Our website uses HTTPS, stores passwords as secure hashes and offers passkeys and two-factor sign-in. No website can be completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
