MSPM0 SysConfig regeneration changed behavior: which files should be compared?

After updating an MSPM0 SDK project and regenerating its configuration, peripheral timing changes. How can the review identify whether the cause is an intended configuration change, a new default or an unrelated application edit?

Keep the SysConfig input file, SDK version, compiler settings and generated outputs under a reproducible workflow. Compare the configuration and generated initialization together. Reviewing only handwritten source can miss clock dividers, interrupt settings or pin mux changes introduced by generation.

Check the selected device and board as well as the clock tree and peripheral parameters. A project that compiles for a related part may still initialize the wrong resources for the assembled hardware. Avoid repairing generated files manually when the change belongs in the configuration source.

Use a small peripheral test and measure its output before reintegrating the full application. For a timer, compare the actual clock and divider against the measured period. Record the successful tool versions so another developer can regenerate the same configuration.
