Read the board documentation and the specific SoC and driver support. A board target can build basic firmware without supporting every hardware block. Check the required peripheral instances, pin assignments and known limitations in the Zephyr version intended for the project.

Use small samples for the critical interfaces on the exact board revision. Verify more than enumeration: measure transfer rate, error handling and behavior across sleep or reset where those matter. Keep external hardware and voltage requirements in the test plan.

Record any missing driver work before committing the design. Pin the SDK and configuration used for evaluation, then repeat essential checks when upgrading. Board support is a useful starting point, but project readiness depends on the specific features and operating modes you need.
