Separate sensor or button detection time, task scheduling, radio delivery and receiver processing. Measure from the physical event to the visible response. Reducing one transport interval does not remove debounce, batching or a slow receiving application.

Profile the negotiated connection parameters rather than only the requested values. The peer and link conditions influence actual behavior. Compare response-time percentiles with charge consumed over a representative interval, including empty connection events, retransmissions and application payloads.

Consider different operating modes if the peer and protocol allow them: responsive interaction when needed and a less demanding reporting mode at other times. Test the transitions and reconnect behavior. State the acceptable response deadline and battery budget before choosing a parameter set.
