PIR Sensor

Overview

Passive Infrared Sensor are commonly known as PIR sensor. PIR is an electronic sensor which can measure Infrared light radiations from objects in their field of view. These are the most commonly used PIR based motion detection sensors. Pin Configuration: This sensor has 4 pins, which are as:

1. VCC
2. TRIG
3. ECHO
4. GND

Features: PIR sensors have vast features and some of them are listed below:

2. Low Noise and High Sensitivity
3. Supply Voltage (-5V)
4. Delay Time Adjustable
5. Standard TTL Output

Applications of PIR sensors: PIR sensors have a large no of applications. Now a days they are commonly used in all the motion detection based projects. Some applications of PIR sensors are listed below:

2. Commonly used in lifts.
3. Lobbies of multistory buildings or large apartments.
4. Also used in staircases
5. For underground rooms (where light is necessary the whole time)
6. Widely used in covered parking areas.
