The DS18B20 is the digital thermometer of countless aquariums, freezers, brewing kettles, greenhouses and weather stations. It needs only one data wire, several of them can share that wire, and in its stainless steel waterproof probe it goes straight into water or soil. Now you can build and test it in Proteus, as the black TO-92 part and as the probe on its cable. Behind the parts sits our own model of the chip , not a part that shows a number. It speaks the real 1-Wire protocol : it answers the reset pulse with a presence pulse, reads the Arduino's write slots, drives its 0s in the read slots, and knows the ROM and function commands.
