The black R307 optical fingerprint module - and the AS608 modules that speak the same protocol - is the classic way to add a fingerprint lock, an attendance system or a door opener to an Arduino project. It talks over a serial port with packets: take an image, turn it into a character file, search the library, store a new finger. In a simulation it is hard to try - a fingerprint module needs a finger on its window, and Proteus has none. Behind the parts sits our own model , written from the R307 user manual.
