WHAT IS IT?
Bussed SIP resistor networks, drawn at true scale: a black body about 5 mm tall, the pin 1 dot, and
the print A103J. Two sizes:
* SIP-9: eight resistors from pin 1, the common, to pins 2 .. 9. SIP-5: four resistors from pin 1
to pins 2 .. 5. Pins on 2.54 mm.
* Type a value (10k, 330, 4k7) and the print follows: A103J, A331J, A472J. A = bussed, the code =
the value, J = 5 %.
* Each resistor has its own power rating, 0.2 W, and the package one of its own; the package warms
with the total and burns out past 300 C.
* Click it at Run for the pop-up: every resistor's current as a bar, the common pin's total, the
package's heat, graphs, an event log and a check page.
The body is drawn as on the real part and to true scale against our Arduino.
The TEP signature and the pop-up are TEP additions.
TWO DEVICES (search "RESNET" in Pick Devices):
RESNETSIP9TEP "Resistor Network SIP-9 V1.0" in TEPRESNET.LIB (Resistors > Resistor Networks),
prefix RN, model TEPRESNET.DLL. Pins 1 (common) .. 9.
RESNETSIP5TEP "Resistor Network SIP-5 V1.0" in TEPRESNET.LIB (Resistors > Resistor Networks),
prefix RN, model TEPRESNET.DLL. Pins 1 (common) .. 5.
THE POP-UP
Click the network at Run. Tabs:
Network the bussed schematic with every resistor's current, and eight live values. The
toolbar: E12 down, E12 up, the tolerance, New part.
Graphs the live values over the last 2, 6 or 15 s. Live / Freeze.
Event log every change and warning; filters All / Changes / Warnings, Pause, Clear
Check what the part is doing and what to look at, each with a verdict (green = fine, amber
= check, red = wrong)

TEST STATUS
V1.0: verified in Proteus 8.5 on 31 Oct 2026 (the demo project as shipped: an A4 sheet, an Arduino UNO V4.0).
What the runs showed (the model's own numbers and the sketch's monitor):
* The project loads and starts cleanly; RN1 prints A331J (eight 330 ohm resistors from pin 1), RN2
prints A102J (four 1k).
* At the full level all eight LEDs lit at 8.64 to 9.12 mA each, and RN1's common pin carried 70.5
mA; the package took 205 mW of its 1 W.
* At half level four LEDs lit, four resistors carried 8.64 mA each, and the common pin 34.6 mA.
* After the first sweep the blue LED D9 lit through RN2 at 2.24 mA: the count 1, in binary.
* The pop-up: Network, Graphs, Event log, Check - all four pages followed the run.
INSTALLATION (about 2 minutes)
1. Close Proteus. Extract the WHOLE ZIP to a normal folder (e.g. Desktop).
2. Copy everything in "Proteus Library Files" (TEPRESNET.LIB, TEPLED5MM.LIB and our Arduino library
V4.0, ArduinoV4TEP.LIB, with the ARDUINO UNO V4.0 used by the demo) to the LIBRARY folder of
Proteus, for example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY
(use the folder that already holds Proteus's own .LIB files).
3. Copy TEPRESNET.DLL, TEPLED5MM.DLL and TEPARDUINO.DLL from "Proteus Model Files" to the MODELS
folder (...\Proteus 8 Professional\MODELS).
4. Delete TEPRESNET.IDX from the LIBRARY folder if it is there (Proteus makes a new index).
5. Start Proteus. In Pick Devices (P) search "RESNET".
RUN THE DEMO
"Proteus Simulation\Resistor-Network-Level-Meter-ArduinoUnoV4.pdsprj" (an A4 sheet) - keep the .hex
file and the DLLs beside the project.
ARD1: Arduino UNO V4.0 running Level_Meter_Demo.hex, its serial monitor built in (window "TEP
Arduino UNO - ARD1").
D1 .. D8: eight LEDs (four green, two yellow, two red), anodes on D2 .. D9.
RN1: a SIP-9 network, A331J, on the LEDs' cathodes: D1 to pin 9 ... D8 to pin 2; pin 1, the
common, to GND.
D9 .. D12, RN2: four blue LEDs on A0 .. A3, their cathodes on a SIP-5 network, A102J: the number
of sweeps in binary.
1. Press Run. The level climbs one LED at a time, holds the full bar, and falls again.
2. Click RN1: each LED's current, and the total in the common pin.
Closed the monitor? Click the UNO's USB port.
WIRING (the same in Proteus and on a real board)
pins - LEDs - network pins 2 .. 9 ; pin 1 - GND : one resistor for each LED, all on one part
network pin 1 - +5V ; pins 2 .. 9 - inputs : eight pull-ups in one part
REAL HARDWARE:
* Each resistor is rated about 0.2 W, and the whole package about 1 W (SIP-9). Check both.
* Pin 1, by the dot, is the common. It carries the sum of all the currents.
* Isolated networks also exist, with two pins for each resistor; this library models the bussed
kind.
THE DEMO SKETCH ON THE SERIAL MONITOR (Level_Meter_Demo V1.0, 9600 baud)
There are no commands. The sketch prints a line at the full bar and after each sweep.
EXPECTED MONITOR OUTPUT

Level 8: all eight LEDs on
PROPERTIES (double-click the part > Edit Properties)
Resistance (VALUE) 10k
Tolerance, % 5 (J), 2 (G), 1 (F)
Power per resistor, W 0.2
Print while stopped the print the sheet shows while stopped
Every run starts again from the properties.
LINKS.INI (OPTIONAL)
The Help page cards of the pop-up open web pages. To point them somewhere else without a new DLL,
put a text file named links.ini next to TEPRESNET.DLL with lines KEY=URL, for example:
ARTICLE=https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/...
Keys: WEBSITE, FORUM, BUG_REPORT, FEATURE_REQUEST, ARTICLE, USER_GUIDE,
UPDATE_CHECK, DONATE. Only http:// and https:// links are used; lines starting
with # are comments.
TROUBLESHOOTING
* An LED stays dark: check its cathode reaches a network pin, and pin 1 reaches GND.
* Every resistor reads 0 A: pin 1, the common, is not connected.
* The stopped print differs from the value: the Check page says which Print while stopped to pick.
* The part is not simulated: TEPRESNET.DLL is missing from MODELS and from the project folder. No
UNO / no monitor window: TEPARDUINO.DLL is missing, or click the UNO's USB port.

LICENCES AND THIRD-PARTY NOTES
* The model (TEPRESNET.DLL), the symbols and artwork, the other parts of ours in the demo and the
Arduino Library V4.0 (ArduinoV4TEP.LIB / TEPARDUINO.DLL, with its built-in TEP Serial Monitor
Advance) are made by The Engineering Projects. The models use only standard Windows libraries; no
Visual C++ redistributable is needed.
The C++ source code is not included.
* Arduino UNO V4.0 (ArduinoV4TEP.LIB / TEPARDUINO.DLL, our Arduino Library V4.0 - its
microcontroller is Proteus's own AVR model): The Engineering Projects,
https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/2026/10/arduino-uno-library-for-proteus-v40.html
* The .hex file is built from the demo sketch and the Arduino AVR core 1.8.6, which includes
LGPL-licensed code; its source code is available at
https://github.com/arduino/ArduinoCore-avr/tree/1.8.6
* Proteus is a product of Labcenter Electronics and is not included. Arduino is a trademark of Arduino SA.
This library is not made or endorsed by Arduino or Labcenter.
REBUILDING THE FIRMWARE (OPTIONAL)
The HEX file is supplied; Arduino IDE is not needed to run the demo. To edit the sketch, open
Arduino Code\Level_Meter_Demo\Level_Meter_Demo.ino, select Arduino Uno and use Sketch > Export
Compiled Binary. Replace the simulation's .hex with the exported HEX. The sketch needs 3,480 bytes
of flash and 204 bytes of RAM.
MODEL SCOPE AND LIMITS
Modelled: the resistors, the print, the power in each and in the package, the package's heating and
the burn-out.
Not modelled: the isolated type, tolerance spread, the temperature coefficient.

FAQs9 questionsContact TEP
How do I download Resistor Network Library for Proteus V1.0?
Wait for the 30-second guest countdown on this page, then press the download button; the file comes straight from our storage. Members who are logged in skip the wait. If the browser opens the file instead of saving it, use its Save as option. The download link is made for you when the countdown ends and works for 15 minutes; a saved or shared link stops working, so share this page instead.
What is inside the archive?
Resistor Network Library for Proteus V1.0 comes as a ZIP archive of 13 files (1.5 MB, 3.4 MB unpacked) holding Proteus library files, simulation model DLLs, a Proteus simulation, an Arduino sketch and compiled HEX firmware. Open the File Structure tab for the full list of 13 files.
What should I do if the download does not start?
Check the browser's download list first; an ad blocker or a company firewall can also hold it back, so try another browser or network. If the file arrives incomplete, download it again. For an installation problem, read the Install tab or tell us in the comments with your software version and the exact error message.
Is this file free?
Yes. Every file in the TEP Download Center is free for learning, personal and student projects. If you share it, link back to this page or the tutorial so others find the latest version.
How do I check that the file arrived complete?
Compare its SHA-256 with the one on this page, 7c7ff107a502931973cdf976026c042781df6e9d90939155c751862bcd0b47ab. In PowerShell run Get-FileHash "resistor-network-tep-v1-0-641725b5067d4d54b475fb365132fc97.zip"; on macOS or Linux run shasum -a 256 "resistor-network-tep-v1-0-641725b5067d4d54b475fb365132fc97.zip". The same value means the file is exactly the one in our storage; a different one means the download broke off, so download it again.
Do I need WinRAR to open the ZIP file?
No. Windows, macOS and Linux open ZIP archives on their own (Extract All, or double-click). WinRAR and 7-Zip work too. Extract the whole archive before using the files.
Where do I put the LIB and IDX files?
Both files go into the LIBRARY folder of your Proteus installation (Proteus 8: C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY; Proteus 7 has the same folder under its own name). Restart Proteus afterwards and search for the component with P.
Which Proteus version does the library need?
The tutorial names the Proteus version the library was made and tested with. Most TEP libraries work in Proteus 7 and Proteus 8; if the component does not appear after a restart, check that both the LIB and the IDX file were copied and that Proteus was fully closed while copying.
How do I get the HEX file into the simulation?
Compile the sketch in the Arduino IDE (Sketch → Export Compiled Binary gives you the HEX next to the sketch), then in Proteus double-click the board, set Program File to that HEX and run.
Members skip the wait. Log in or join TEP.
