Send SMS with PIC Microcontroller & SIM900

SIM900 carrier for the PIC SMS tutorial, PIC18F452, SIM900 modem, SMS tutorial

Hello friends! Today we will send an SMS using a PIC18F452 microcontroller and a SIM900 modem. We will use mikroC PRO for PIC and the hardware UART, beginning with the electrical connection and then following the command exchange that submits a text message. The command sequence is related to our earlier Arduino SMS sending project . The microcontroller code changes, but the modem still needs a valid supply, compatible serial signals, network registration and correctly terminated AT commands. We will improve the original example by waiting for responses instead of assuming that fixed delays prove success. For the opposite direction, see SMS reception with Arduino and SMS reception with PIC . Figure: SIM900 carrier for the PIC SMS tutorial. What You Need for the Project PIC18F452 with its r ...

Arduino Projects

Arduino project collection and learning guide, Arduino projects, embedded learning, tutorial collection

Hello friends! This page organizes our Arduino projects into a practical learning path. We will begin with board setup and a first sketch, then move through displays, sensors, communication and combined applications. The aim is to help you choose the next useful exercise instead of searching through an unrelated collection of links. Work through the projects actively. Read the circuit, predict the result, run a small example and explain any difference you observe. You can also explore our Arduino projects for beginners and the corresponding PIC microcontroller project guide when comparing learning paths. The collection includes historical boards, software and simulation packages. Keep each tutorial's exact hardware and version requirements in mind. An example written for a classic Uno or a ...

Receive SMS with AT Commands using Sim900 and Arduino

SIM900 SMS receiving tutorial overview, SIM900 modem, Arduino serial reception, SMS parsing

Hello friends! Today we will receive SMS messages with a SIM900 modem and an Arduino. In the earlier SMS sending tutorial , Arduino initiated a command and supplied message text. Receiving is different because a message can arrive at any time, including while the program is handling another modem response. Libraries SIM900 Simulation Libraries Latest library: SIM900A Library for Proteus V1.1 (October 2026) Other GSM modules: SIM800L · SIM800C · SIM808 Helping Tools Serial Monitor Advance : a serial terminal window for the UART of your board Serial Monitor Expert : the serial monitor with extra debugging tools LCD Library for Proteus V3.0 : 16x2, 20x4 and I2C LCDs to show your readings We will begin by checking the serial connection, configure text-mode notifications and inspect the sender ...

Ultrasonic Sensor Library for Proteus

Ultrasonic Sensor Library for Proteus, HC-SR04 model, Arduino Uno interface, distance simulation

Hello friends! Today I will show you how to install our Ultrasonic Sensor Library for Proteus and use it with an Arduino Uno. We will begin with the library files, place the sensor on a schematic, connect its simulation input and then read the distance through the Virtual Terminal. This is the original HC-SR04-style library introduced in this tutorial. Updates Ultrasonic Sensor Library for Proteus Latest version: Ultrasonic Sensor Library for Proteus V2.0 (October 2026): HC-SR04 with real TRIG and ECHO timing, Simple and Advance devices, test tools and an Arduino demo Earlier versions: V1.0 (2015, this tutorial) Other distance and motion sensors: JSN-SR04T · Sharp IR · TF-Luna LiDAR · VL53L0X · PIR HC-SR501 · RCWL-0516 · IR Obstacle FC-51 Helping Tools Serial Monitor Advance : a serial ter ...

Send SMS with Arduino UNO and SIM900D using AT Commands

Arduino UNO and SIM900D SMS project overview, SIM900D modem, Arduino UNO, SMS AT commands

Hello friends! Today, we will send an SMS with an Arduino UNO and a SIM900D GSM module using AT commands. We will start with the connections, check that the modem can communicate with the mobile network, and then let the Arduino submit one message. You will also learn how to tell the difference between a successful command and a message that has actually reached its recipient. Libraries SIM900 Simulation Libraries Latest library: SIM900A Library for Proteus V1.1 (October 2026) Other GSM modules: SIM800L · SIM800C · SIM808 Helping Tools Serial Monitor Advance : a serial terminal window for the UART of your board Serial Monitor Expert : the serial monitor with extra debugging tools LCD Library for Proteus V3.0 : 16x2, 20x4 and I2C LCDs to show your readings The SIM900D handles the radio conn ...

How To Use Virtual Terminal in Proteus ISIS

Proteus Virtual Terminal, serial data display, UART debugging, terminal output

Hello friends! In this tutorial, we will learn how to use Virtual Terminal in Proteus ISIS to inspect serial data and send simple commands to a simulated circuit. It is particularly useful when working with microcontrollers, GSM modules, GPS receivers, and other devices whose behavior can be understood through a serial interface. We will begin with the simplest arrangement: a simulated microcontroller communicating directly with Virtual Terminal. Then we will return to the original article's COMPIM example, which connects a simulation to a real computer serial port. Keeping those two arrangements separate will help you choose the correct components and avoid unnecessary COM-port problems. The aim is to make serial communication visible before building a larger application around it. We wil ...

Complete Guide on Proteus ISIS & ARES

Proteus ISIS and ARES guide, schematic capture tutorials, circuit simulation lessons, PCB layout learning path

Hello friends! In this guide, we will learn how to use Proteus ISIS and ARES, starting with a simple circuit and gradually moving toward microcontroller simulations and PCB design. I have kept the original tutorial collection so that you can follow a lesson in detail whenever you reach that stage. Our goal is to understand the complete development process. We will draw a circuit, calculate what it should do, simulate its behavior, examine signals with instruments and then prepare a physical board layout. Each stage answers a different question, so a successful simulation is one step in the process rather than the final proof of a finished product. If you are new to Proteus, follow the sections in order. If you already use it, choose the topic you need from the linked lessons. Some screensh ...
