WHAT IS IT?
Proteus 8 has no STM32H747 (or any Arm Cortex-M7) model, so this is NOT a real STM32H747. It is the Arduino GIGA R1
WiFi - the Mega's 101.6 x 53.3 mm board and headers, the dual-core STM32H747XI, 8 MB of SDRAM, 16 MB of QSPI flash, the
Murata 1DX Wi-Fi / Bluetooth module with its antenna socket, USB-C, the USB-A host port, the audio jack, the camera and
JTAG connectors, the RGB LED, RESET and BOOT0 - that runs YOUR two GIGA sketches in Proteus, one per core:
* You write normal GIGA sketches - the M7 one (D0 .. D53, A0 .. A11, DAC0 / DAC1, Serial, Serial1 .. Serial3, Wire,
SPI, WiFi with WiFiServer / WiFiClient / WiFiUDP, RPC) and, if you like, an M4 one (the RGB LED, RPC) - and compile
them in the Arduino IDE with our board package "TEP Boards for Proteus" 1.38.0 (in Arduino Code - see INSTALLATION):
board "Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi (TEP Proteus)" for the M7, "Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi M4 core (TEP Proteus)" for the M4.
* Inside the board, Proteus's own ATmega2560 model runs the M7 sketch at 16 MHz; a SECOND hidden ATmega2560 runs the
M4 sketch next to it. Our model (TEPNET.DLL) wraps both: the GIGA's pins, 3.3 V logic, A0 .. A11 (0 .. 1023 for
0 .. 3.3 V), the DAC, RESET, the ON LED, the RGB LED (both cores can light it), the built-in serial monitor on the
USB-C (Serial), RPC between the cores and the Wi-Fi radio (the Murata 1DX's job on the real board).
* RPC: RPC.begin() on the M7 boots the M4 (until then the M4 waits, as on the real board); RPC.print / println / write
on one core arrive at RPC.available / read / peek on the other - text lines in both directions.
* Wi-Fi: a virtual router (TEP-WiFi, password 12345678) with DHCP (192.168.1.101 for U1), TCP and UDP between all the
TEP Wi-Fi parts in the design (boards, modules, the Laptop and Mobile WiFi Monitors).
TEP additions: the antenna colours (green on Wi-Fi, orange sending, cyan receiving), the PANEL pad (or the Murata
module) opens the board's panel, the USB-C opens the serial monitor.
Limits (say them before you start): 16 MHz, 8 KB of RAM per core (the real board: 480 MHz and 240 MHz, 1 MB of RAM plus
8 MB of SDRAM), int is 16 bits (the real board: 32 bits - use long for big numbers), the M4 core has no header pins
(only the RGB LED and RPC), RPC is a byte stream (RPC.bind / RPC.call are not modelled), no Serial4, no Wire1 / Wire2
(SDA1 / SCL1), no CAN, no Bluetooth, no USB host, no audio jack, no camera. See MODEL SCOPE AND LIMITS.
ONE DEVICE (search "GIGA" in Pick Devices):
ARDUINO GIGA R1 WIFI "Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi" V1.0 (Microprocessor ICs > Arduino Wi-Fi Boards), prefix U, model
TEPNET.DLL. The panel (a TEP pop-up window; the PANEL pad opens it): Wi-Fi (a phone: OPEN GIGA PAGE, the router's
list), Pins (every pin live), Test, Settings, Help. The serial monitor (115200 baud) has Monitor, Plotter and Board
tabs (the Board tab: the ON LED, the RGB LED, the RESET key, every pin). Like every TEP window it has no Windows title
bar.
The same TEPNET.DLL also runs our other Wi-Fi boards and the Laptop / Mobile WiFi Monitors; it replaces any older
TEPNET.DLL (keep only this newest one in MODELS).
TEST STATUS
V1.0: verified in Proteus 8.5 on 27 Oct 2026 with the demo project as shipped. What the Proteus run showed:
* GIGA-R1-WiFi-Door-Station: the monitor printed "M4 core started (RPC)", "PN532 ready, firmware 1.6", "R307 ready, 2
fingerprints", "Connecting to TEP-WiFi", "Door page: http://192.168.1.101/" and "DFPlayer Mini ready"; the M4 core
answered "M4 core: door light ready" and lit the RGB LED blue; the ON LED lit, the antenna green on Wi-Fi.
* The laptop (192.168.1.21) and the phone (192.168.1.41) opened http://192.168.1.101/ (HTTP 200): Door LOCKED, no
events.
* Card 1 tapped on the PN532's pop-up: "OPEN - Sana by card (open 1)", WELCOME HOME on the DFPlayer (BUSY LOW), the
RGB LED green; 5 s later "Door locked" and blue again. Card 3 (the NTAG213): "DENY - 04112233445566 by card", BEEP,
the RGB LED flashing red for 3 s.
* Finger A on the R307's pop-up: found as ID 1, score 130 - "OPEN - Sana by finger (open 2)"; finger C: "DENY -
unknown by finger".
* OPEN DOOR on the phone: "OPEN - remote by web page (open 3)", DOOR OPEN played; LOCKDOWN ON: "Lockdown ON (the web
page)", the RGB LED red; card 1 in the lockdown: "DENY - Sana by card (lockdown)". STATUS: "Door LOCKDOWN, opened 3,
refused 3, fingerprints 2, sound idle"; LOG listed the six events; the laptop's page showed them, newest first.
* About 40 s of simulation in about 14 minutes, no errors, with the monitor, the three pop-ups and both tools open.
INSTALLATION (about 3 minutes)
1. Close Proteus. Extract the WHOLE ZIP to a normal folder (e.g. Desktop).
2. Copy everything in "Proteus Library Files" to the LIBRARY folder of Proteus, for example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY
(on some PCs: C:\ProgramData\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY). TEPGIGA.LIB is the board; the
others are the demo's parts: TEPPN532.LIB, TEPFINGER.LIB, TEPDFPLAYER.LIB, TEPLAPTOP.LIB and TEPMOBILE.LIB.
3. Copy the DLLs from "Proteus Model Files" (TEPNET.DLL, TEPPN532.DLL, TEPFINGER.DLL, TEPDFPLAYER.DLL) to the MODELS
folder (...\Proteus 8 Professional\MODELS) - replace an older TEPNET.DLL (this one is the first that knows the GIGA).
4. Delete TEPGIGA.IDX from the LIBRARY folder if it is there.
5. The Arduino IDE (only to compile your own sketches - the demo has its HEX files): copy the folder
"Arduino Code\TEP Boards for Proteus\hardware" into your sketchbook folder (normally Documents\Arduino), so that
Documents\Arduino\hardware\tep\avr\boards.txt exists (replace an older copy); restart the IDE. The Arduino AVR Boards
platform must be installed (it comes with IDE 1.8.x; in IDE 2.x install "Arduino AVR Boards" from the Boards Manager
once). Tools > Board > TEP Boards for Proteus > Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi (TEP Proteus), or ... M4 core (TEP Proteus).
6. Start Proteus. In Pick Devices (P) search "GIGA".
RUN THE DEMO
Keep the .hex files and the DLLs beside the project in "Proteus Simulation".
GIGA-R1-WiFi-Door-Station.pdsprj - U1 the GIGA R1 WiFi is a door station: the M7 runs GIGA_Door_Station.hex (PROGRAM),
the M4 runs GIGA_Door_Light.hex (PROGRAMM4). U2 = the PN532 NFC reader on I2C (SDA D20, SCL D21, IRQ D3, RST D4), U3 =
the R307 fingerprint sensor on Serial2 (D18 TX, D19 RX, 57600 baud), U4 = the DFPlayer Mini on Serial3 (D16 TX, D17 RX,
9600 baud) with its BUSY on D2. PC1 the Laptop WiFi Monitor and MOB1 the Mobile WiFi Monitor open http://192.168.1.101/.
The three modules are the Advance versions: each opens its pop-up window at Run.
Press Run. The M7 starts the M4 (RPC.begin), finds the PN532 (firmware 1.6) and the R307 (2 fingerprints), joins
TEP-WiFi and starts the DFPlayer; the M4 lights the RGB LED blue (locked).
* The PN532's pop-up: Tap card 1 (DE AD BE EF, Sana) - OPEN: the door opens for 5 s, WELCOME HOME plays, the RGB LED
turns green. Tap card 3 (04 11 22 33 44 55 66, not on the list) - DENY: BEEP, the RGB LED flashes red for 3 s.
* The R307's pop-up: click finger A - found as ID 1 (Sana), OPEN; click it again to lift it. Finger C is not in the
sensor's library - DENY.
* The phone or the laptop: the door, the opened / refused counts and the last 8 events (newest first); OPEN DOOR opens
it from the page (DOOR OPEN plays), LOCKDOWN ON refuses every card and finger (the RGB LED red) until LOCKDOWN OFF;
JSON gives the same as /json.
* The monitor (115200): one line per event, the M4's answers ("M4 core: RGB LED green (open)"); type STATUS, OPEN,
LOCK (lockdown on / off), LOG or HELP.
The supplies: in the demo each module's VCC / 5V is on a power terminal (Proteus' power rail); their models read the
supply as a digital level, which the board's 3.3V / 5V pins (analog sources) do not give them. On a real board the PN532
sits on 3.3 V or 5 V, the R307 and the DFPlayer on 5 V.
Closed a window? The USB-C of the board opens the monitor, the PANEL pad the panel.
THE PINS (the label on the board, what it can do in the simulation)
RX0 / TX0 D0 / D1: Serial1 (not the USB), GPIO
D2 .. D13 GPIO, interrupt, analogWrite (PWM on any pin through the board model)
D14 / D15 GPIO (Serial4 on the real board - not modelled)
D16 / D17 Serial3 TX / RX; D18 / D19 Serial2 TX / RX
D20 / D21 Wire SDA / SCL (I2C)
D22 .. D53 GPIO (the 2 x 18 header)
A0 .. A11 analogRead 0 .. 1023 for 0 .. 3.3 V (analogReadResolution(12): 0 .. 4095)
DAC0 / DAC1 analogWrite: 0 .. 3.3 V
MISO / SCK / MOSI SPI on the 6-pin SPI header (74 / 76 / 75)
LEDR / LEDG / LEDB the RGB LED (lit when LOW); LED_BUILTIN = LEDB - both cores can drive it
3.3V / 5V, GND 3.3 V (the board's logic) and 5 V; ground
RESET LOW holds the board in reset (both cores)
SDA1 / SCL1, AREF, IOREF, VRTC, VIN, CANRX / CANTX drawn, not modelled
Serial is the USB-C (the board's monitor), not D0 / D1. The pins are 3.3 V logic.
PROPERTIES (double-click the board > Edit Properties)
PROGRAM the M7 sketch's HEX (Arduino IDE: Sketch > Export Compiled Binary with Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi (TEP Proteus))
PROGRAMM4 the M4 sketch's HEX (board Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi M4 core (TEP Proteus)); empty = the M4 stays off
WIFISSID the router in range (default TEP-WiFi); WIFIPASS its password (default 12345678)
MONITOR YES = the built-in serial monitor on the USB-C (Serial); BAUD its speed (115200, or AUTO)
AUTOOPEN YES = the monitor window opens at Run (the demo: YES)
TIME the clock the sketch reads: PC (the PC's clock) or YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS in UTC
The IP address follows the part's number: U1 192.168.1.101, U2 .102 ... One GIGA R1 WiFi per design (its USB serial
lines are hidden pins, and Proteus joins hidden pins of the same name across parts).
TROUBLESHOOTING
* Nothing happens at Run: the HEX was not built with TEP Boards for Proteus - select Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi (TEP Proteus)
and export the binary again.
* "M4 core: no program": PROGRAMM4 is empty - or the M4 HEX was built for the M7 board; use the M4 core board.
* The RGB LED stays dark: the M4 sketch only runs after the M7 calls RPC.begin().
* "PN532 NOT FOUND": SDA on D20, SCL on D21; the PN532's VCC on the power rail.
* "R307 NOT FOUND": the sensor's RXD on D18, TXD on D19, finger.begin(57600).
* "DFPlayer Mini NOT FOUND": the module's RX on D16, TX on D17; the sketch waits 1.5 s for the card first.
* The board stays on "Connecting": the sketch's SSID / password differ from WIFISSID / WIFIPASS.
* A library will not compile with "SoftwareSerial.h": update the add-on to 1.38.0 (it brings SoftwareSerial; in Proteus
SoftwareSerial sends but cannot receive - use Serial1 .. Serial3).
* An integer goes wrong above 32767: int is 16 bits on the hidden AVR - use long.
* The page shows old values: tap Reload (the monitors do not reload by themselves).

Wait for the 30-second guest countdown on this page, then press the download button; the file comes straight from our storage. Members who are logged in skip the wait. If the browser opens the file instead of saving it, use its Save as option. The download link is made for you when the countdown ends and works for 15 minutes; a saved or shared link stops working, so share this page instead.
What is inside the archive?
Arduino GIGA R1 WiFi Library for Proteus V1.0 comes as a ZIP archive of 235 files (4.0 MB, 8.8 MB unpacked) holding Proteus library files, simulation model DLLs, a Proteus simulation, an Arduino sketch, an Arduino library, compiled HEX firmware and source code. Open the File Structure tab for the full list of 235 files.
What should I do if the download does not start?
Check the browser's download list first; an ad blocker or a company firewall can also hold it back, so try another browser or network. If the file arrives incomplete, download it again. For an installation problem, read the Install tab or tell us in the comments with your software version and the exact error message.
Is this file free?
Yes. Every file in the TEP Download Center is free for learning, personal and student projects. If you share it, link back to this page or the tutorial so others find the latest version.
How do I check that the file arrived complete?
Compare its SHA-256 with the one on this page, 2e3c1237d4ddec9b508d5841e6acc81b3f6871dfe4a3139fec8429c07af73fe2. In PowerShell run Get-FileHash "arduino-giga-r1-wifi-tep-v1-0-5a371f274fa74f1883d6158c274ca4ab.zip"; on macOS or Linux run shasum -a 256 "arduino-giga-r1-wifi-tep-v1-0-5a371f274fa74f1883d6158c274ca4ab.zip". The same value means the file is exactly the one in our storage; a different one means the download broke off, so download it again.
Do I need WinRAR to open the ZIP file?
No. Windows, macOS and Linux open ZIP archives on their own (Extract All, or double-click). WinRAR and 7-Zip work too. Extract the whole archive before using the files.
Where do I put the LIB and IDX files?
Both files go into the LIBRARY folder of your Proteus installation (Proteus 8: C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY; Proteus 7 has the same folder under its own name). Restart Proteus afterwards and search for the component with P.
Which Proteus version does the library need?
The tutorial names the Proteus version the library was made and tested with. Most TEP libraries work in Proteus 7 and Proteus 8; if the component does not appear after a restart, check that both the LIB and the IDX file were copied and that Proteus was fully closed while copying.
How do I get the HEX file into the simulation?
Compile the sketch in the Arduino IDE (Sketch → Export Compiled Binary gives you the HEX next to the sketch), then in Proteus double-click the board, set Program File to that HEX and run.
