WHAT IS IT?
Proteus 8 has no ESP32 (Xtensa) processor model, no SX1262 and no GPS receiver, so this is NOT a real LilyGO T-Beam.
It is the T-Beam V1.2 - the black 100 x 33 mm board with the ESP32-D0WDQ6-V3, the SX1262 LoRa module and its SMA
socket, the u-blox NEO-6M GPS with its ceramic patch antenna, the 0.96" OLED, the USB-C port (CH9102), the PWR /
IO38 / RST buttons, the power LED and the GPS's red PPS LED - that runs YOUR T-Beam sketch in Proteus:
* You write a normal T-Beam sketch with the ESP32's GPIO numbers and LilyGO's names (RADIO_CS_PIN 18,
RADIO_DIO1_PIN 33, RADIO_RST_PIN 23, RADIO_BUSY_PIN 32, GPS_RX_PIN 34, GPS_TX_PIN 12, I2C_SDA 21, I2C_SCL 22,
BUTTON_PIN 38), RadioLib for the radio, TinyGPSPlus on Serial1 for the GPS, Adafruit SSD1306 for the OLED, WiFi
and WebServer, and compile it in the Arduino IDE with our board package "TEP Boards for Proteus" 1.33.0 (in
Arduino Code - see INSTALLATION).
* Inside the board, Proteus's own ATmega2560 model runs the compiled sketch at 16 MHz; our model (TEPNET.DLL)
wraps it: the header GPIOs with their numbers, 3.3 V logic, analogRead (0 .. 4095 for 0 .. 3.3 V), PWM and
attachInterrupt, Wi-Fi, RST, the IO38 button, the power LED and the built-in serial monitor on the USB port
(Serial).
* The GPS is in the board: Serial1 receives its NMEA sentences ($GPRMC and $GPGGA, once a second at 9600 baud) for
a position the board's properties set - a start point, a speed and a heading - so the tracker drives through the
simulation. The first fix comes after GPSFIX seconds; then the red PPS LED blinks once a second.
* The SX1262 is in the board too - the same radio model as our Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3: the T-Beam and the Heltec
boards in one design talk to each other over LoRa (the LORADIST property: how far apart they are).
* The OLED (SSD1306 at I2C address 0x3C on SDA 21 / SCL 22) shows what your sketch draws, in white.
TEP additions: the USB-C port opens the serial monitor; the PANEL pad (or a click on the OLED) opens the board's
panel; the LEDs glow and the Wi-Fi antenna turns green while Wi-Fi is on.
Limits (say them before you start): 16 MHz, 8 KB of RAM (the real ESP32: 240 MHz, 520 KB + 8 MB PSRAM), 256 KB of
flash; int is 16 bits (use long / int32_t for big numbers); the AXP2101 power management is not modelled (the radio
and the GPS are always powered, the battery and the CHG LED are not there); one SPI bus (the radio) and one I2C bus.
See MODEL SCOPE AND LIMITS.
ONE DEVICE (search "T-BEAM" in Pick Devices):
LILYGO T-BEAM "LilyGO T-Beam" V1.0 (Microprocessor ICs > ESP32 Boards), prefix U, model TEPNET.DLL. The serial
monitor (115200 baud) has Monitor, Plotter and Board tabs (the Board tab: the LEDs, the buttons, the GPIOs and the
analog pins with their volts). Like every TEP window it has no Windows title bar.
The same TEPNET.DLL also runs our other sketch boards (the demo's Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3 too), the Ethernet shields
and the Laptop / Mobile WiFi Monitors; it replaces any older TEPNET.DLL (keep only this newest one in MODELS).
TEST STATUS
V1.0: verified in Proteus 8.5 on 27 Oct 2026 with the demo project as shipped. What the Proteus run showed:
* T-Beam-LoRa-GPS-Tracker: the tracker's GPS had its fix after 3 s and drove north-east at 36 km/h (9 satellites);
its first report
reached the Heltec base at RSSI -107.0 dBm, SNR 9.8 dB (LORADIST 1 km), 31 m NE of the base, then
80, 131, 179, 230 and 280 m;
the box read 4.5 C; the base joined TEP-WiFi as 192.168.1.101. Both OLEDs showed the
trip, the base's white LED and the
tracker's red PPS LED lit.
* From the phone: FIND ME - the tracker's OLED
flashed FIND ME! with the base's next LoRa answer - and FOUND; the laptop read /json.
* About 29 s of simulation in
344 s on our PC, with the DHT22's pop-up, both monitors and both tools open.
INSTALLATION (about 3 minutes)
1. Close Proteus. Extract the WHOLE ZIP to a normal folder (e.g. Desktop).
2. Copy everything in "Proteus Library Files" to the LIBRARY folder of Proteus, for example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY
(on some PCs: C:\ProgramData\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY). TEPTBEAM.LIB is the board;
the others are the demo's parts: TEPHELTECV3.LIB (the base station), TEPDHT.LIB, TEPLAPTOP.LIB and TEPMOBILE.LIB.
3. Copy the DLLs from "Proteus Model Files" (TEPNET.DLL, TEPDHT.DLL) to the MODELS folder (...\Proteus 8
Professional\MODELS) - replace an older TEPNET.DLL (this one is the first that knows the T-Beam).
4. Delete TEPTBEAM.IDX from the LIBRARY folder if it is there.
5. The Arduino IDE (only to compile your own sketches - the demo has its HEX files): copy the folder
"Arduino Code\TEP Boards for Proteus\hardware" into your sketchbook folder (normally Documents\Arduino), so that
Documents\Arduino\hardware\tep\avr\boards.txt exists (replace an older copy); restart the IDE. The Arduino AVR
Boards platform must be installed (it comes with IDE 1.8.x; in IDE 2.x install "Arduino AVR Boards" from the
Boards Manager once). Tools > Board > TEP Boards for Proteus > LilyGO T-Beam V1.2 (TEP Proteus) - and Heltec WiFi
LoRa 32 V3 (TEP Proteus) for the base. The demo also needs RadioLib, TinyGPSPlus, DHT sensor library, Adafruit
Unified Sensor, Adafruit SSD1306, Adafruit GFX and Adafruit BusIO (Library Manager).
6. Start Proteus. In Pick Devices (P) search "T-BEAM".
RUN THE DEMO
Keep the .hex files and the DLLs beside the project in "Proteus Simulation".
T-Beam-LoRa-GPS-Tracker.pdsprj - a delivery van with a cold box, and its base station:
U2 the T-Beam (TBeam_GPS_Tracker.hex, LORADIST 1 km) is the tracker: its GPS starts at 31.5204 N, 74.3587 E and
drives at 36 km/h towards the north-east (GPSSPEED 36, GPSHEADING 45, the first fix after 3 s); DHT1 = the DHT22
(Advance) on GPIO25 is the cold box's thermometer (4.5 C in the demo). Every 5 s it sends a LoRa packet (868.0
MHz, SF7, 125 kHz, +14 dBm): "T,seq,lat x100000,lon x100000,speed x10,satellites,temp x10,sos", and shows its
position, speed, satellites and the box on its OLED. IO38 switches SOS on and off (and sends at once).
U1 the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3 (Heltec_Tracker_Gateway.hex) is the base station: it answers every packet
("B,seq, find, seconds"), works out how far the van is and in which direction (TinyGPSPlus distanceBetween /
courseTo from its own place, 31.52040 N, 74.35870 E), shows it on its OLED and joins TEP-WiFi as 192.168.1.101:
PC1 the Laptop WiFi Monitor opens http://192.168.1.101/json, MOB1 the Mobile WiFi Monitor http://192.168.1.101/ -
the position, the distance and direction, the speed, the box, SOS, and the links FIND ME / FOUND / EVERY 5 S /
EVERY 30 S. Tap FIND ME: with the base's next answer the tracker's OLED flashes FIND ME! for 10 s, so you can find
the box in the van; FOUND stops it.
The DHT22 is the Advance version: it opens its pop-up window at Run - change the box's temperature and watch the
page follow. Press Run. Closed a monitor? Click the board's USB-C port.
THE PINS (the label on the board, what it can do in the simulation)
36 (VP) / 39 (VN) GPIO, input only, analogRead (ADC1)
15, 25, 14, 13, 2 GPIO, analogRead (ADC2), PWM, interrupt; 25 is also DAC1
TX 1 / RX 3 Serial (the USB port, the board's monitor)
0 GPIO, PWM, interrupt
RST the reset (LOW = reset)
3V3, DCDC1, 5V, GND 3.3 V (the logic), 3.3 V, 5 V, ground
On the board only: the IO38 button (LOW while pressed), the SX1262 (NSS 18, SCK 5, MOSI 27, MISO 19, RESET 23, BUSY
32, DIO1 33), the GPS (Serial1: RX 34 / TX 12) and the I2C bus (SDA 21, SCL 22: the OLED). The pins are 3.3 V logic.

LORADIST the LoRa distance to the other boards: 10 m, 100 m, 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, 20 km
WIFISSID / WIFIPASS the router in range (TEP-WiFi / 12345678)
MONITOR YES = the built-in serial monitor on the USB port (Serial); BAUD its speed (115200, or AUTO)
AUTOOPEN YES = the monitor window opens at Run (the demo: YES)
TIME the clock for NTP and the GPS's UTC time (PC, or a fixed UTC time)
One T-Beam per design (the IO38 button is a hidden pin); any number of Heltec V3 boards beside it.
TROUBLESHOOTING
* Nothing happens at Run: the HEX was not built with TEP Boards for Proteus - select LilyGO T-Beam V1.2 (TEP
Proteus) and export the binary again.
* No GPS fix: read Serial1 all the time (gps.encode(Serial1.read()) in loop()); the first fix comes after GPSFIX
seconds.
* radio.begin() fails: SX1262 radio = new Module(18, 33, 23, 32) - NSS, DIO1, RST, BUSY.
* No answer over LoRa: both boards on the same frequency, spreading factor, bandwidth and sync word; a shorter
LORADIST.
* An integer goes wrong above 32767: int is 16 bits on the hidden AVR - use long.
* The page shows old values: tap REFRESH (the monitors do not reload by themselves).

The HEX files are supplied. Install TEP Boards for Proteus (INSTALLATION step 5) and the libraries, open Arduino
Code\TBeam_GPS_Tracker (board LilyGO T-Beam V1.2) and Arduino Code\Heltec_Tracker_Gateway (board Heltec WiFi LoRa 32
V3) and use Sketch > Export Compiled Binary. For a real T-Beam V1.2 install the "esp32" boards (Espressif), select
"T-Beam" and add the AXP2101 set-up from LilyGO's examples (XPowersLib: ALDO2 powers the LoRa radio, ALDO3 the GPS)
before radio.begin().
MODEL SCOPE AND LIMITS
Modelled: the T-Beam's header GPIOs and IO38 on a hidden ATmega2560 (Proteus's AVR model, 16 MHz, 3.3 V); digital
I/O, analogRead (36, 39, 15, 25, 14, 13, 2) for 0 .. 3.3 V, PWM and attachInterrupt through the board model; Wi-Fi
(station, WebServer, HTTPClient); the GPS on Serial1 (RMC + GGA once a second at 9600 baud, the position from GPSLAT
/ GPSLON moving at GPSSPEED towards GPSHEADING, GPSSATS satellites, no fix for GPSFIX seconds, the PPS LED); the
SX1262 (the commands RadioLib uses, BUSY, DIO1, time on air, RSSI / SNR from LORADIST, the other TEP LoRa boards on
the same air); the SSD1306 OLED (128 x 64, its commands and addressing modes, contrast); RST, the power LED; Serial
on the USB port (the board's monitor) and Wire (the AVR's TWI). Not modelled: the ESP32 itself (240 MHz, 520 KB RAM,
its registers, deep sleep), Bluetooth, the AXP2101 (I2C 0x34: power rails, the battery, the charger, the PWR button,
the CHG LED), the GPS's other sentences and commands (UBX), the radios of other model DLLs (our SX1262 / SX1278
modules: their own air). The simulation runs below real time.

FAQs9 questionsContact TEP
How do I download LilyGO T-Beam Library for Proteus V1.0?
Wait for the 30-second guest countdown on this page, then press the download button; the file comes straight from our storage. Members who are logged in skip the wait. If the browser opens the file instead of saving it, use its Save as option. The download link is made for you when the countdown ends and works for 15 minutes; a saved or shared link stops working, so share this page instead.
What is inside the archive?
LilyGO T-Beam Library for Proteus V1.0 comes as a ZIP archive of 192 files (3.1 MB, 7.1 MB unpacked) holding Proteus library files, simulation model DLLs, a Proteus simulation, an Arduino sketch, an Arduino library, compiled HEX firmware and source code. Open the File Structure tab for the full list of 192 files.
What should I do if the download does not start?
Check the browser's download list first; an ad blocker or a company firewall can also hold it back, so try another browser or network. If the file arrives incomplete, download it again. For an installation problem, read the Install tab or tell us in the comments with your software version and the exact error message.
Is this file free?
Yes. Every file in the TEP Download Center is free for learning, personal and student projects. If you share it, link back to this page or the tutorial so others find the latest version.
How do I check that the file arrived complete?
Compare its SHA-256 with the one on this page, 4a352fe8984b8e6d1039717909ef5c710475e005bbac68dc22a5aa7736e419f4. In PowerShell run Get-FileHash "lilygo-t-beam-tep-v1-0-3e6af4068513471083c80dce6180ac49.zip"; on macOS or Linux run shasum -a 256 "lilygo-t-beam-tep-v1-0-3e6af4068513471083c80dce6180ac49.zip". The same value means the file is exactly the one in our storage; a different one means the download broke off, so download it again.
Do I need WinRAR to open the ZIP file?
No. Windows, macOS and Linux open ZIP archives on their own (Extract All, or double-click). WinRAR and 7-Zip work too. Extract the whole archive before using the files.
Where do I put the LIB and IDX files?
Both files go into the LIBRARY folder of your Proteus installation (Proteus 8: C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY; Proteus 7 has the same folder under its own name). Restart Proteus afterwards and search for the component with P.
Which Proteus version does the library need?
The tutorial names the Proteus version the library was made and tested with. Most TEP libraries work in Proteus 7 and Proteus 8; if the component does not appear after a restart, check that both the LIB and the IDX file were copied and that Proteus was fully closed while copying.
How do I get the HEX file into the simulation?
Compile the sketch in the Arduino IDE (Sketch → Export Compiled Binary gives you the HEX next to the sketch), then in Proteus double-click the board, set Program File to that HEX and run.
Members skip the wait. Log in or join TEP.
