WHAT IS IT?
Proteus 8 has no ESP32 or SIM7600 processor model, so this is NOT a real ESP32 chip. Our team has put a lot of effort
into
building this board ourselves: it is LilyGO's T-SIM7600 - the long black board with the ESP32-WROVER module, a SIM7600
4G LTE
modem with GNSS, the nano SIM socket, two USB Type-C ports, the PWR and RST buttons, the blue LED and the red network
LED -
that runs YOUR ESP32 Arduino sketch in Proteus:
* You write a normal T-SIM7600 sketch (the GPIO numbers of the board, analogRead 0-4095, analogWrite, ledcWrite,
attachInterrupt, Wire, SPI, Serial, Serial1 to the modem, WiFi, WebServer, HTTPClient ...) and compile it in the
Arduino
IDE with our board package "TEP Boards for Proteus" 1.47.0 (in Arduino Code - see INSTALLATION).
* The SIM7600 is ON the board: GPIO27 goes to its RXD, GPIO26 comes from its TXD (Serial1 at 115200), a pulse on
GPIO4 is its
PWRKEY and GPIO25 its FLIGHT pin. It answers real AT commands: AT, ATE, AT+CMGF, AT+CNMI, AT+CLIP, AT+CEREG?,
AT+CSQ, AT+CPSI?,
AT+CNSMOD?, AT+CMGS, ATH, ATA, and for its GPS AT+CGPS, AT+CGPSINFO and AT+CGNSSINFO.
* A phone window plays the other end: it texts the board, gets its SMS, calls it, sees the network, and sets the GPS
scene:
PARKED, DRIVING or NO FIX. Click the SIM7600.
The board stands as in LilyGO's photo: the antenna of the WROVER at the top, the 15 + 15 pads beside the module (left,
top to
bottom: 3V3 GND 32 33 34 25 26 27 4 2 15 14 13 12 VBAT; right: TX RX 3V3 GND 22 21 23 19 18 5 39 0 RST GND VBUS), and
the SIM7600
at the bottom. VBAT and RST are drawn only. It is shorter than the real board so that it stays a small part on an A4
sheet.
TEP additions: the PCB antenna's colours, the PANEL pad (or the WROVER module) opens the board's panel, the TTL port
opens the
serial monitor, a click on the SIM7600 opens the phone.
Limits (say them before you start): your sketch gets 8 KB of RAM in the simulation (the real board: 520 KB plus
PSRAM), about
256 KB of flash, int is 16 bits in the simulation (use long / int32_t for big numbers), no FreeRTOS tasks, no second
core, no
Bluetooth, no ESP-IDF, no real TLS, no soft AP. The modem does SMS, calls and GPS: LTE data (AT+NETOPEN, AT+CIPOPEN,
TinyGSM's
gprsConnect, MQTT, HTTP) is NOT modelled. See MODEL SCOPE AND LIMITS.
ONE DEVICE (search "T-SIM7600" in Pick Devices):
T-SIM7600 "LilyGO T-SIM7600" V1.0 (Microprocessor ICs > ESP32 Boards), prefix U, model TEPNET.DLL. Three TEP
windows, none
with a Windows title bar: the phone (a click on the SIM7600), the panel (the PANEL pad: Wi-Fi, Pins, Test, Settings,
Help) and
the serial monitor (the TTL port, 115200 baud: Monitor, Plotter and Board tabs).
The same TEPNET.DLL also runs our other Wi-Fi boards; it replaces any older TEPNET.DLL (keep only this newest one in
MODELS).
TEST STATUS
V1.0: verified in Proteus 8.5 on 30 Oct 2026 with the demo project as shipped. What the Proteus run showed:
* T-SIM7600-GPS-Tracker: the monitor printed "Starting the SIM7600", "On the 4G network", "GPS fix: 31.520400,
74.358700" and "SMS to +15555550191: Tracker online
https://maps.google.com/?q=31.520400,74.358700"; the phone window showed REGISTERED - TEP MOBILE, 115200 bps and the
GNSS card with the fix.
* From the phone: WHERE answered with the map link; ARM lit the blue LED; SHAKE on the MPU6050's window: ">> ALARM:
bump" and its SMS; ARM again, DRIVING: ">> ALARM: moved" and its SMS.
* STOP: the relay on and "Engine stopped"; NO FIX: "GPS: no fix", and WHERE answered "No GPS fix yet"; PARKED: the fix
came back; START: the relay off and "Engine free, alarm off".
* CALL: "Missed call from +15555550191", the call rejected, the map link by SMS.
* about 100 s of simulation, no errors, with the pop-ups, the panel and the monitor open.
INSTALLATION (about 3 minutes)
1. Close Proteus. Extract the WHOLE ZIP to a normal folder (e.g. Desktop).
2. Copy everything in "Proteus Library Files" to the LIBRARY folder of Proteus, for example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY
(on some PCs: C:\ProgramData\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY). TEPTSIM7600.LIB is the board;
the others
are the demo's parts: TEPMPU6050.LIB and TEPRELAY.LIB.
3. Copy the DLLs from "Proteus Model Files" (TEPNET.DLL, TEPMPU6050.DLL, TEPRELAY.DLL) to the MODELS folder
(...\Proteus 8
Professional\MODELS) - replace an older TEPNET.DLL (this one is the first that knows the T-SIM7600).
4. Delete TEPTSIM7600.IDX from the LIBRARY folder if it is there.
5. The Arduino IDE (only to compile your own sketches - the demo has its HEX file): copy the folder
"Arduino Code\TEP Boards for Proteus\hardware" into your sketchbook folder (normally Documents\Arduino), so that
Documents\Arduino\hardware\tep\avr\boards.txt exists (replace an older copy); restart the IDE. The Arduino AVR Boards
platform must be installed (it comes with IDE 1.8.x; in IDE 2.x install "Arduino AVR Boards" from the Boards
Manager once).
Tools > Board > TEP Boards for Proteus > T-SIM7600 (TEP Proteus).
6. Start Proteus. In Pick Devices (P) search "T-SIM7600".
RUN THE DEMO
Keep the .hex file and the DLLs beside the project in "Proteus Simulation".
T-SIM7600-GPS-Tracker.pdsprj - U1 the T-SIM7600 (TSim7600_GPS_Tracker.hex) is a vehicle tracker: U2 = the MPU6050 on
I2C feels a
bump, RLY1 = the relay on GPIO13 cuts the engine (active LOW). Both are the Advance versions: they open their pop-up
windows at
Run.
The sketch pulses PWRKEY on GPIO4, sets up the SIM7600 with AT commands, waits for +CEREG, starts the GPS with
AT+CGPS=1,1 and
reads AT+CGPSINFO every 2 s. At the first fix it texts "Tracker online" with a map link. The blue LED (GPIO12) shows
that the
alarm is armed.
Press Run and wait for the phone to show the message. On the phone click WHERE, then ARM. Click SHAKE on the MPU6050's
window: the
alarm goes off once. Click FLAT, ARM again, then DRIVING: at 100 m from where it was armed the alarm goes off again.
STOP cuts the
engine; START frees it and disarms. NO FIX takes the sky away. A CALL is a missed call: the board hangs up, which
costs the
caller nothing, and answers with the map link by SMS.
Closed a window? The TTL port of the board opens the monitor, the PANEL pad the panel, the SIM7600 the phone.
THE PINS (the label on the board, what it can do in the simulation)
27 / 26 MODEM_TX / MODEM_RX: Serial1, to the SIM7600 (115200)
4 MODEM_PWRKEY: a HIGH pulse of 100 ms or more starts the module, one of 2.5 s or more stops it
25 MODEM_FLIGHT: HIGH = normal, LOW = flight mode
32, 33, 34 MODEM_DTR, MODEM_RI (LOW while it rings), MODEM_STATUS (HIGH when it runs)
21 / 22 SDA / SCL (Wire)
18, 19, 23, 5 SCK, MISO, MOSI, SS (SPI)
TX / RX GPIO1 / 3: Serial (the board's monitor)
12 the blue LED (LED_BUILTIN, LED_PIN), GPIO
0, 2, 13, 14, 15 GPIO, PWM, interrupt (2, 13, 14 and 15 are the TF card's on the real board)
39 input only, analogRead 0 .. 4095 for 0 .. 3.3 V
3V3, VBUS, GND 3.3 V (the logic), 5 V, ground
Leave GPIO4, 25, 26, 27, 32, 33 and 34 to the modem.
PROPERTIES (double-click the board > Edit Properties)
PROGRAM the sketch's HEX (Arduino IDE: Sketch > Export Compiled Binary with T-SIM7600 (TEP Proteus))
SIMNUM the SIM card's number (+15555550101); PHONENUM the phone's number (+15555550191)
OPERATOR the network's name (TEP MOBILE); GSMCLOCK the module's clock (PC or YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS)
GPSLAT, GPSLON where the vehicle starts (31.5204, 74.3587)
WIFISSID the router in range (default TEP-WiFi); WIFIPASS its password (default 12345678)
MONITOR YES = the built-in serial monitor on Serial; BAUD its speed (115200, or AUTO)
AUTOOPEN YES = the monitor window opens at Run (the demo: YES)
The phone's NETWORK keys set the signal during the run: GOOD, WEAK or NO SIGNAL; its GNSS keys: PARKED, DRIVING (50
km/h) or NO FIX.
TROUBLESHOOTING
* The phone says NO POWER: the sketch must pulse GPIO4 HIGH for 100 ms or more (MODEM_PWRKEY).
* The module never answers: Serial1.begin(115200, SERIAL_8N1, MODEM_RX, MODEM_TX), and send AT until it answers OK.
* AT+CMGS fails: wait for +CEREG: 0,1, the module needs a few seconds to register.
* AT+CGPSINFO gives only commas: send AT+CGPS=1,1 and wait for the fix (6 s here; a real module needs longer, under an
open sky).
* A position looks wrong: a float has about 7 digits. Keep it in a long, in millionths of a degree.
* An integer goes wrong above 32767: int is 16 bits in the simulation - use long.

FAQs9 questionsContact TEP
How do I download LilyGO T-SIM7600 Library for Proteus V1.0?
Wait for the 30-second guest countdown on this page, then press the download button; the file comes straight from our storage. Members who are logged in skip the wait. If the browser opens the file instead of saving it, use its Save as option. The download link is made for you when the countdown ends and works for 15 minutes; a saved or shared link stops working, so share this page instead.
What is inside the archive?
LilyGO T-SIM7600 Library for Proteus V1.0 comes as a ZIP archive of 237 files (3.9 MB, 9.0 MB unpacked) holding Proteus library files, simulation model DLLs, a Proteus simulation, an Arduino sketch, an Arduino library, compiled HEX firmware and source code. Open the File Structure tab for the full list of 237 files.
What should I do if the download does not start?
Check the browser's download list first; an ad blocker or a company firewall can also hold it back, so try another browser or network. If the file arrives incomplete, download it again. For an installation problem, read the Install tab or tell us in the comments with your software version and the exact error message.
Is this file free?
Yes. Every file in the TEP Download Center is free for learning, personal and student projects. If you share it, link back to this page or the tutorial so others find the latest version.
How do I check that the file arrived complete?
Compare its SHA-256 with the one on this page, 2dc4d83eafd3cb355608ea3844c75d0b079dd0e825ee51e1d09fa4ce42d89f18. In PowerShell run Get-FileHash "lilygo-t-sim7600-tep-v1-0-84dcdf50274943278603f4e28643541e.zip"; on macOS or Linux run shasum -a 256 "lilygo-t-sim7600-tep-v1-0-84dcdf50274943278603f4e28643541e.zip". The same value means the file is exactly the one in our storage; a different one means the download broke off, so download it again.
Do I need WinRAR to open the ZIP file?
No. Windows, macOS and Linux open ZIP archives on their own (Extract All, or double-click). WinRAR and 7-Zip work too. Extract the whole archive before using the files.
Where do I put the LIB and IDX files?
Both files go into the LIBRARY folder of your Proteus installation (Proteus 8: C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY; Proteus 7 has the same folder under its own name). Restart Proteus afterwards and search for the component with P.
Which Proteus version does the library need?
The tutorial names the Proteus version the library was made and tested with. Most TEP libraries work in Proteus 7 and Proteus 8; if the component does not appear after a restart, check that both the LIB and the IDX file were copied and that Proteus was fully closed while copying.
How do I get the HEX file into the simulation?
Compile the sketch in the Arduino IDE (Sketch → Export Compiled Binary gives you the HEX next to the sketch), then in Proteus double-click the board, set Program File to that HEX and run.
Members skip the wait. Log in or join TEP.
